We seek candidates who will develop impactful, productive, and novel research programs, will commit to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, and will contribute to the Department's goals of shaping the next generation of leaders in nuclear engineering, pushing the boundaries of science, and serving our society. The ideal candidate will outline a vision for research and scholarship that will advance radiation science and technology, radiation detection and instrumentation, radiation monitoring, and can contribute the health physics area, and related areas. An ability to interface with other disciplines (nuclear physics, nuclear data, thermal hydraulics, nuclear materials, neutron transport, etc.) is highly desired.

In addition to developing a vibrant, cutting-edge research program, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and develop undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in Radiation Detection and Instrumentation disciplines and to mentor students at all levels. Candidates will have to demonstrate a commitment to excel in teaching and mentoring.

Candidates will also have to demonstrate how they plan to contribute through research, teaching, and mentoring to the core values of the Nuclear Engineering Department: integrity, excellence, dignity, and justice. Candidates should know that financial and in-kind resources are available to pursue activities that help accelerate our efforts to achieve our diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging goals, with the full backing of the College of Engineering.
